Fashion Comic

Well- I have been waiting a long time to release these!  I shot this concept that I’ve had in mind for ages, I wanted to create a fashion superhero, or a fashion comic strip.  Four images from the series of six are in the first print issue of String Magazine too!  You can order a copy HERE.

I collaborated with stylist Alexia Anastasiou, we brought on the talents of:

Model: Rachel Ashmore, Hair: Carly Schneider, Makeup: Dana Allan, Artwork: John Young.

Bang-On! Shop Front Signage

If you’re in Vancouver and wandering downtown passed Bang-On! T-Shirt stores, both on Granville and Robson, you’ll see new signage in front of the stores.  I was hired on to shoot these with an amazing team!  Thanks to Dandi Wind for bringing me onto the project, she did an incredible job styling so many models over the course of the two days (these pictured are only a handful that came through) The hair and make up were awesome and though my set-up was tucked away from all the prep, it was obvious that everyone was hustling because there was a constant stream of rad models coming through.  One of the two days I broke my record and shot just under 3600 images in the span of 6 hours!  I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work on cool projects like this one!

Melody Ehsani

I was recently introduced to an incredibly talented and equally sweet woman, her name is Melody Ehsani.  She has designed jewelry for the likes of Rihanna and Lauren Hill (amongst many others), when you go through her catalogue you will understand why she is so sought after.  It didn’t take her long to get noticed once she started her designs shortly after leaving Law School (she’s got a great story too!) She’s the type of woman who quietly inspires but loudly catches your eye.

Sucker Punched

The “Sucker Punch Ball” is an event title that immediately caught my attention.  When I received the assignment from the Georgia Straight to photograph the fashion show portion, I was admittedly very intrigued.

As it turned out, the night at the Rio Theatre consisted of two highlights: a fun three part burlesque style fashion show, featuring clothing from Scout Boutique, designer Misty Greer, and the feature artist (yes, a clothing artist) Melanie Talkington of Lace Embrace – the second portion of the evening was a midnight screening of the premiere for the movie ‘Sucker Punch‘… hence the Sucker Punch Ball.  Though, being the granny-like gal that I am, I didn’t have it in me to stick it out for the movie… and, the exciteable Photographer that I am was excited to get home and get uploading images of the spectacular outfits I had seen throughout the evening.

The following image was alongside the article by Sarah Rowland in this week’s Georgia Straight… unfortunately the photo credit was missed in print, but if you pick up a copy this is what you’ll find!
